What's in a name?

Let's look at what the RINEX filename thun123a.04o.gz is telling us:

Station name

Day of year

Hour of the day logged

Compaction extension type

            Notes:
The Rinex format typically creates two files: the observation file (*.04o) and the navigation file(*.04n). You will see
both of these files in the data directory for each site, and will commonly require both for baseline processing.

During Pacific Standard Time there is an -8hr difference between UT and Local.

During Pacific Daylight Savings Time there is a -7 hr difference between UT and Local.

In the table below, each RINEX file is listed at the hour they will be downloaded from the sensor to the server. The data in each file includes the observation data for the hour completed at that time. For example, the 'a'  file would include data from 4pm-5pm PST.
